Featuring Mischa John
Mischa Johns was born and raised in Palatka, FL. She received her AA from St. Johns River State College, her BA in Anthropology from the University of Florida and her MA in Archaeology from the University of Sheffield in Yorkshire, England. After returning briefly to the US, she accepted a teaching position in Tokyo, Japan where she remained until the Touhoku Earthquake and Tsunami in 2011. Returning home, she did some volunteering with local archaeology groups until she was hired as the Assistant City Archaeologist of St. Augustine, assisting and supervising over 200 projects, including the discovery of human remains in Charlotte Street. She is a member of the St. Augustine Archaeological Association, the Society for American Archaeology and the Florida Anthropological Association. She is currently the Web Administrator and Graphic Designer for PluggedInto, a local online publication and volunteers for the Putnam County Historical Society and St. Johns River Bartram Frolic Committee.
The event will include a Continental breakfast buffet and hot lunch.
The program begins at 9:30 am and the cost is $18/person (continental breakfast & lunch is included).
