Go K-WOW (Kids Wild Outdoor World)

Go K-WOW is a blog I created. Gokwow.blogspot.com. This is a way for me to inform kids in the state of Florida about the great outdoors. We are surrounded by woods and water and I want to help educate kids about how to be safe while exploring and having fun outside. Lots of kids are challenged with finding events and activities going on in their area. My blog reminds them how much fun it can be to get outside and explore the great outdoors. I’m sure you are aware of the social challenges kids face every day and how much time they spend on social media. K-WOW stands for Kids Wild Outdoor World, and I hope that it reaches lots of kids and keeps them exploring outside. So far over 3,000 people have visited my blog.

For as long as I can remember I have loved exploring the great outdoors. I use to read to my animals in the barn on a blanket for hours. My family has centered our family vacations around outdoor activities and taught my brother and myself to respect and enjoy the great outdoors. Fishing and knee boarding in Kingsley Lake is one of my favorite outdoor activities. My dad has passed down the tradition of bow hunting, muzzle loading, and running our hounds to me, my brother, and my cousins. It was a proud day for him when I harvested my first buck at the age of 12. As much fun as it is to hunt and fish, safety always comes first. Now that I am older I realize not only is it important to be safe but it is very important to practice good stewardship when it comes to the environment. I have attended safety workshops and now I have a lifetime hunting and fishing license. I promote safety and stewardship on my blog by advertising the Florida Virtual Outdoor Education Course.

The FFA and 4-H organizations have provided me with opportunities to enjoy the outdoor lifestyle. I participate in canoeing, kayaking, fishing, hunting, archery, tubing, knee boarding, and tractor driving events because of these organizations. I hope that K-WOW will become a place where kids can go to combine their love for social media and getting outside. Please feel free to visit my blog and read on how kids in Florida get outside safely and often. I encourage you to take a kid hunting, fishing, or kayaking at one of the many springs Florida has to offer.
